Welcome to the newly-improved website for Portsmouth Hospital Broadcasting to mark the, hopefully final, move back to the brand-new Queen Alexandra Hospital which serves the entirety of Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.
To mark a new hospital (well much of it, anyway) PHB has recently moved into brand-new dedicated studios adjacent to the Chaplain’s office on B-Level.
Following huge efforts from a dedicated group of members, not only has PHB survived its latest move from St Marys’ Hospital, but has now got a ‘state of the art’ studio built, with a second studio to follow. All the technology and frantic activity does not mean we’ve forgotten our roots.
As a radio station we are here to provide a service to our listeners who are patients and occasionally staff in our hospital. This does not mean we can’t have a lot of fun along the way.
This does not come cheap - and the move has been an expensive one. Over the next few months we’ll need to get back to some serious tin-rattling and other fun and games.
