Hospedia - Allowing PHB to your bedside

Portsmouth Hospital Broadcasting is available FREE OF CHARGE on Channel 45
(You may have to register your details with Hospedia which is also FREE OF CHARGE)

Leave you mobile phone at home and keep it safe with Hospedia's phone and entertainment packages.

Whether its the Sentanta Sports Pack or just the radio and phone, everything is catered for by purchasing pre-loaded cards from convenient dispensers aroudn the hospital.

  • Telephone - With a telephone right at your bedside it's easy to keep in touch.
    Calls from the bedside may be included in a TV package or may cost 10p a minute,
    minimum call charge 10p. The costs of calls to the bedside are advised when you call a patient's bedside phone.
  • Television - With a choice of more than 20 TV channels you won't miss watching any of
    your favourite programmes. Many sites have film, sports and other specialist content available, plus longer stay discounts. Package prices and options are published at vending machines at each hospital, where payment cards are available in £3.50, £5 and £10 denominations. Alternatively, call the customer care centre on 0845 414 1234 if you
    would like to purchase credit for the bedside system using credit or debit card.
    Television is free on children's wards at most times of day.
  • Radio - Listen to a choice of national and local radio stations - all for free!
  • Games - Challenge yourself with our great range of games included in the television package. On Children's wards games are available for £1 a day.
  • Internet and email - Surf the net or send and receive emails - included in the television package.

How to call a patient in hospital

Hospedia's telephone service is designed to help you speak directly to the right patient without having to speak to the nurses station.

Each patient has their own personal telephone number.

If you don't know their personal telephone number you can call the Hospedia Customer Care Team on 0870 212 1234 (calls charged at national rate).

Q: How much does Hospedia cost?

A: By the end of April 2007 TV costs from £2.90 a day, including free internet and games on internet enabled consoles.

Children aged 16 and under get free TV.

Making a call costs 10p a minute, minimum call charge 10p.

Calls to the bedside cost 39p per minute off-peak and 49p at all other times.
Off peak is 6pm - 8am Mon to Fri and all weekends, peak rates apply at other times.

Please note call charges to or from international destinations, mobiles and other networks may vary.

Radio is free - 24 hours a day.

Q: My TV or telephone isn't working properly, what do I do?

A: Unfortunately faults do occur from time to time. If you have a fault you need to report it to our Customer Care Team. You can do this by pressing the operator button on your telephone handset or by calling 0870 212 1234.
Our Customer Care Team will arrange for someone to visit your bed to fix the problem.

Q: How can I buy Hospedia services?

A: You can buy our services in a number of ways:

Credit or Debit card

Paying by credit and debit is easy and we will refund any money leftover once you have left hospital.

You can pay on-line or you can call our Customer Care Team on
0870 212 1234 (open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

Alternatively at some hospitals you can pay at the bedside - simply press the [other services button] on the remote control, select the pay by credit/debit card option and follow the instructions.

Cash

You can also buy Hospedia cards from vending machines sited in each hospital or you can ask a Customer Service Advisor on one of their ward rounds to purchase a card on your behalf.

Please note, due to the risk of theft we are sorry that we can only offer refunds on unused Hospedia cards. We are unable to refund part-used Hospedia cards paid for in cash.
